Finally, a class A/B preamps that doesn't need a pad, doesn't sound harsh and has a beautiful DI. Avedis Audio Electronics did a wonderful job this 500 series preamp! The world doesn't need another API clone and the MD7 isn't one. The MD7 has a wide bandwidth sound that is smooth and punchy. The MD7 has also has a really cool feature set.- a send and return so you can interface guitar pedals and other effects while tracking. For example- I used an old MXR Dyna Comp on vocals and it sounded really slow and gooey. This was really unique sounding compared to a lot of pro compressors out there. You can use the MD7 as a line level preamp and as a guitar reamp interface. A high pass filter at 80hz. It also has a class A buffer stage- this helps to achieve a punchy yet smooth character. I love summing mixes through them as well. Check them out!
